11/09/2026 18:04:39

On August 18, 2026, FTMS Global officially launched the Finance for Non-Financial Leaders (FFNL) – Finance for Business Owners and Managers course, designed for professionals without a finance or accounting background who regularly make decisions related to cash flow, costs, profitability, investment, and business performance.

As one of FTMS Global’s Public Training Courseworks, FFNL is designed to combine core financial knowledge with practical management challenges, helping participants gradually use finance as a tool for business management and decision-making.

In this intake, FTMS Global has further updated the program by integrating an AI Applications for Business Owners and Managers module, giving participants additional opportunities to explore how technology can be applied to management, analysis, and information processing.

From the very first session, the class did not begin with dry financial formulas. Instead, participants explored practical situations, from understanding financial figures and asking the right questions about financial reports to using financial information to support management decisions.

1. Why Do Business Owners and Managers Need to Understand Finance?

In practice, many business owners and managers do not come from a finance background, yet almost every important decision they make has an impact on the company’s financial performance. From decisions on pricing, costs, recruitment, investment, and business expansion to cash flow management and resource allocation, managers need to understand the meaning behind the numbers to make better-informed decisions.

This is why Finance for Non-Financial Leaders is designed for CEOs, directors, business owners, department managers, and middle managers who need financial knowledge to support their management responsibilities.

Through the program, participants gradually learn to:

  • Understand the language of corporate finance, including key financial figures and information.
  • Connect financial data with management decisions, rather than relying primarily on experience or intuition.
  • Manage financial risks more effectively, from cash flow, receivables, and costs to working capital.
  • Communicate more effectively with finance and accounting teams by gaining a clearer understanding of key indicators and issues that require attention.

The FFNL course helps participants confidently manage and take control of corporate finance

The goal of Finance for Non-Financial Leaders is not to turn managers into finance experts, but to help them understand finance deeply enough to ask the right questions, identify the right issues, and make management decisions with greater confidence.

2. FFNL Is Built Around Real-World Management Challenges

A key feature of the opening session was the diverse perspectives shared by business owners, leaders, and managers from different industries.

Each question and situation shared by participants became a real-world case for the class to analyze and discuss together. As a result, financial concepts went beyond theory and were placed within real business management and operational contexts.

In the following sessions, participants will explore key topics including financial management, financial analysis, cash flow, costs, investment, capital raising, and business valuation from the perspective of decision-makers.

The program combines instruction, consulting, and coaching throughout the course, directly addressing real business challenges faced by participants

Through direct discussions with experts, participants can address practical challenges within their organizations or the departments they manage.

This is how FTMS Global connects knowledge with work, helping participants not only to “know” but also to understand, analyze, and apply financial information to management.

The FFNL course is supported by a team of corporate finance experts with 30 years of experience

3. What’s New in This Finance for Non-Financial Leaders Intake: AI Applications

For this intake, FTMS Global has further enhanced the program by integrating an AI Applications module for Business Owners and Managers. The module introduces participants to ways of applying AI to process information, improve work efficiency, and support analysis, management, and decision-making. The addition of the AI module to the FFNL program also reflects FTMS Global’s ongoing effort to keep its training content aligned with changes in the business environment and the way organizations work.

Beyond financial knowledge, participants also have the opportunity to explore new tools that can support the practical work of managers.

This is also part of FTMS Global’s efforts to develop corporate training solutions and professional development programs that are practical, up-to-date, and applicable to the workplace.

In addition to Public Training Courseworks such as FFNL, FTMS Global also delivers training programs specifically designed around the needs of individual organizations and teams, aligned with their capability development objectives.
